DIDIM Mayor Deniz Atabay has pledged council funding to buy 100 school uniforms for local ‘needy’ pupils.

In his weekly press conference, he highlighted a number of issues:

School uniforms

The mayor said the Didim Municipality’s Cultural and Social Affairs Department had agreed to fund uniforms and shoes for 100 ‘neediest’ children.

Names would be identified by the social affairs department.

New ongoing road improvements

He has said that works along Yale Cadd from Medusa Disco to the Tuntas Hotel will begin this winter, as well as Karakol Caddesi and Meryemana Hotel.

He’s also indicated that there will be improvement works made on İnönü Bulvarı towards Yeşilkent.

Culture Centre search

Mr Atabay indicated that a search for a location for a new culture centre in the resort had led to two potential sites. These would be assessed and in conjunction with Aydin council, on site would be chosen, He declined to give any further details of the potential locations.
