DIDIM Mayor Mumin Kamaci – fresh from defeating two candidates to become the town’s leader in the local elections – has this week hit national headlines over claims of a sex tape scandal.

Mr Kamaci, who has held power in Didim for the past two terms, was recently given the nod to run as mayor elect in the March.

However, Turkey’s national newspapers reported last week that Mr Kamaci had been caught up in alleged sex tape scandal.

It was claimed that Mr Kamaci had been allegedly blackmailed over the covert sex tape.

However, while Mr Kamaci denies all allegations, a criminal complaint has been filed by him against named individuals to the Public Prosecutor’s office on December 30.

In light of these allegations, 11 people have been detained and questioned, while computers have been seized for examination.
