EXPATS who are Turkcell users may well be interested to know that they can now convert the daily messages from the phone provider into English.

Thanks to an alert on a Facebook group based in Bodrum, users have learned that Turkcell is now rolling out software to convert Turkish messages into English.

And all you need do is send a text to 2222 saying: ‘ENGLISH’ as your message and you will receive a message back saying: “English language preference registered”.

The new software is understood to be in its infancy, so it may well be hit and miss but at least all important messages should be received in English.
