DIDIM Mayor Deniz Atabay has advertising hoardings that pepper the road leading into Akbuk in his sights.

After council workers chopped down a number of advertising hoardings out towards the Aqua Park and Tasburun, the counciol is understood to be looking at the visual pollution on the main highway into and out of Akbuk.

Didim Mayor ATABAY said he wanted to initiate a campaign to end the visual pollution of the highway with the removal of unauthorized signs and billboards.

He praised the council workers having started from Akyeniköy to battle the problem and was now confident that the Akbuk-based billboards would bite the dust soon.

He said the visual pollution impaired the views.  “The dismantling of illegal signage to counter act visual pollution is ongoing and will continue into Akbuk.”
