IF you’re looking for a taste of home, then you’ll be hard not to be impressed with the selection of excellent pies, savouries and desserts waiting to whet your appetite at Pie King.
Pie King, which has been trading for about nine months, recently moved from its Yenihisar base to much bigger premises next to A101, close to the top of Ataturk Boulevard, on Pinar Cadessi.
The concept, initiated by a South African expat, has taken off, with Pie King cornering the market in serving some of the best tastiest pies you can imagine.
Pies with good fillings ranging from chicken, chicken curry, chicken & mushroom, beef onion, Cornish, pepper steak, steak and kidney, and lamb curry, are all available.
But the Pie King is also flexible in being able to offer what the customer wants, so is able to cook to order and for takeaways.
One of its newest initiatives this winter will be to offer frozen meals to expats with a door-to-door service, as well as delivering its frozen pies and made-to-order specialities.
Voices was able to sample one of the pies and found full the brim with meaty content, hot mash and veg, and a cup of coffee.
In total, the meal and drink cost just 13TL (the pie is 6TL, the veg and mash 4TL and the coffee 3TL). A bargain in these economic-tight times.
The bonus was that you were able to eat in comfort in the 160sqm restaurant which has its own hi-tech kitchens on site, ensuring meals are fresh.
Apart from its ‘pie line’, Pie King also offers mini-beef rolls, burgers, salads, toasties, savouries like quiche, and desserts, such as creamy cheesecake.
Pie King is open 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday. To find out more what the Pie King offers, prices and its home deliveries, contact 0256 811 3015, Facebook: Pie King Didim or email: info@pieking.com.tr
