A NEW burial ground, in 78 acres of land out towards Mavisehir, is now underway.

The site, located at Kavakdere close to the Yükselen site, is being brought on line due to concerns by Didim Belediye that the present burial ground will not have any vacant plots available. 

Didim Mayor Ahmet Deniz Atabay said work including administrative buildings, security room and a mosque, would be included at the district’s new modern cemetery.

He said: “The town is in urgent need of a new cemetery. So we have started the necessary infrastructure works within the scope of an  immediate construction of a municipal cemetery.

“Electricity and water connections are done. We will be ready in a short time.”
