Expats mourn death of Dot

A BRITISH woman , who had a home in Didim for 14 years, has died after a brave two-year battle against cancer.

The funeral of Dot Rawlings will take place in Liverpool on Friday (Feb 20). She passed away on Wednesday February 11. 

Dot, who was married to her husband Jim for more than 50 years, co-owned an apartment in Selenic Cad., with her sister Val Drummond.

Her friend Linda Keelan told Voices: “Dot was a good friend and we spent many happy times in Altinkum for many years. We spent a lot of time at Didim Diner, with good friends Selma and Nurettin Altiner, as well as at India Gate, the original Arti and Billy Lees.

“Dot also had many English and Turkish friends in Altinkum and they have been expressing their condolences to the family.”

She added: “Dot was a great friend to be around and my thoughts are with her family at this particularly sad time.”
