THE expat meeting hosted by the British Embassy gave an update on the fortunes of people looking to use the Bodrum consulate services now that its office has been closed.

British HM Consul for Turkey Mr Timothy Fisher said a mobile service was now in place within the Bodrum district for expats who could avail of the services on appointment.

The consulate is using the Marina Vista Hotel, in Bodrum, as its base to meet expats.

Emergency passports take 2 to 3 days in applying through the Bodrum office, but the Izmir consulate issue them quicker.

Emergency Travel Documents are still available in Bodrum, you need to call 0252 412 6488 and arrange a meeting with the local Consul.

If you are a tourist with a lost passport the Consul will come to your hotel, but if a resident then your meeting will be in the Marina Vista Hotel.
