Akbük Volunteers have visited Aydın Metropolitan Municipality and met with ASKİ General Manager Hakan Olgaç. Volunteers conveyed Akbük’s problems and potential solutions to Olgaç.

Olgaç gave the following information on the sewerage issue as the most important issue: “Last year, the Fevzipaşa sewerage project came to the point of tender. However, the increased cost required the procedure to be completed all over again. 

“The loan amount in Iller Bank was increased. The new project is expected to be approved by the Municipal Committee. The next tender phase may take place in July-August.”

The water shortage was reported to the General Manager. Olgaç stated that 2 additional drillings will be made.

According to the information received during the meeting; The asphalt paving until Kumkent will not continue until the Didim junction. He reminded that infrastructure works should be done on the aforementioned road. 

According to the information given by Olgaç, there is no clarity on the construction of other roads in Akbük yet.

The lack of vacuum trucks was also. Olgaç responded; “As our vacuum truck prices are low, we cannot meet the demand. If work can be done after 24 hours, 2 shifts can be increased to 3.” 

Views were also exchanged on the accelerating sea pollution of Akbuk. When the fisherman’s shelter in the center of the city was mentioned, the General Manager said: “They took that area from us and declared it a “Special Yacht Project Area” as the Ministry. Project work can take up to 5-10 years.”

A proposal was made to the General Manager to organize municipal buses between Söke-Akbük. Olgaç said that he would forward the proposal to the relevant parties. They hope to follow up with a meeting in Akbük in 1-2 weeks time.
