DIDIM Sailing Club, which has been operating in Didim for several years, has become the first club in Aydın to be certified with a tourism certificate.

Aydın Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Cenap Fillikçioğlu, Aydın Provincial Culture and Tourism Director M. Umut Tuncer, Didim Tourism Association President Mustafa Şentürk, Didim Sailing Club President Hülya Zayan and guests attended the event held regarding the club operating in Didim 2nd Bay.

Tuncer stated that Didim has the best sea and climate in the world and said: “We also use all the opportunities to create tourism added value by using all the instruments of the sea for complementary tourism. 

“In this sense, we managed to add another feature for Didim tourism to our tourism portfolio. We have given Didim Sailing Club a tourism certificate to realize tourism activations. It will have color value for Didim tourism.” 

Aydın Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Cenap Fillikçioğlu stated that Didim is suitable for water sports and said, “We are making efforts to develop water sports in Aydın and contribute to tourism. We believe that our sailing club, which has a tourism certificate, will develop tourism in the direction of sports.” 

Didim Sailing Club President Hülya Zayan said: “I am very happy. We were the first to get the tourism certificate in Aydın. Unfortunately, we should have 50 athletes, but we have 15. 

“Our summer athletes exceed 100. We do wind, laser, catamaran and optimist surfing. Families think that this sport cannot be done in winter, they will get cold. In many cold countries, they do this sport by breaking the ice.” He called for especially young people to participate in sailing.”

After the opening speeches, the sailing club students sailed and exhibited the water sports they used.
