ROADWORKS have begun on parts of Adnan Menderes Bulvari (the road to the Marina).

Aydin Municipality has begun the works after partially completing water alleviation and sewer works at the bottom end of the road.

Heavy machinery was seen scraping the top layer of the road off with plans to have the road re-tarmacked.

It seems the work is slightly behind schedule as the Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay suggested that work would begin around May 15.

Nevertheess, motorists have been warned that parts of the road will be single line traffic instead of dual, with traffic heading in the opposite direction.

No date has yet been given on when the project will be finished.
