FOUR restaurants in Didim have been chosen to battle it out for the crown to be recognized as the best in resort.
The Best Restaurants Award is organized by Facebook members of the Altinkum Debate Group via a poll.
For the last two years that the competition has been running, Circus Restaurant, headed up by Karin Dalbak, has taken the crown.
Circus picked up enough votes to be in the top four, along with 2014 former top favourite Lush Martino’s Restaurant. Both are located directly opposite each other on Ataturk Boulevard.
The other two restaurants to garner top votes were Topkapi Restaurant, on Altinkum Seafront, and a new one, called Mavi Kitchen and Bar on Fener Caddesi, in Hisar Mahallesi, off Adnan Menderes Bulvari.

Overall, there were 511 votes for 36 restaurants. The top ten restaurants voted by the ADG members came out as:
Topkapi: 110
Circus: 72
Lush Martino’s: 66
Mavi Kitchen: 43
Caspers: 31
Regency Lounge: 20
Pinochio’s: 17
Castle: 16
Ikbal’s: 15
BeachWay: 11
The top four will now be judged over the coming weeks on the quality of the food, the overall dining experience, cleanliness, ambiance, decor and service.
The five judges will be ADG founder Blake Maynard; his wife Gul; food connoisseur Graham
Boyd; international business traveller Sarah Louise Sheridan and Vicki Turner.
In a twist on the final judging, two mystery diners will also judge the restaurants independently and anonymously. All scores will be accumulated from the seven judges and a winner will be announced in about a month’s time.
Mr Maynard said: “Normally we send five judges, including myself. But some people thought that due to my presence restaurants may put more of their time on the judges’ table. So we decided to send in two extra mystery diners to balance the final judging scores.”
He added: “There were more restaurants and more votes this year than the previous two years and it’s a good guide for people in general as to where the best meals can be had. We take it that one step further to judge on the overall dining experience.
“All the judges pay for their own meals and we do not get any freebies from the restaurants. Everything is entirely above board.”
Voices will be revealing the winner in due course.
